Under the direction of chef Marc Gascons, Informal has carved out its niche in the world of Barcelona's haute cuisine. His personal and invigorating take on traditional Catalan and Mediterranean cuisine is a breath of fresh air in the city's food scene.
Located on the ground floor of The Serras Hotel, a stone's throw from the sea, Informal springs from an innovative and inviting gastronomic concept. Here sophistication meets simplicity and luxury embraces a laidback feel.
Marc Gascons, who earned Els Tinars (Llagostera) a Michelin star, opts for fresh, youthful and informal food inspired by Catalan and Mediterranean traditions made with carefully selected seasonal, locally sourced products. Among his specialities, we find dishes and tapas like the Catalan flatbread known as coca topped with roast beef, parmesan and black truffles; creamy potato gnocchi; and small chicken cannelloni with mushrooms. Perfect for sharing, these dishes also pair splendidly with the impressive wine list.
The rooftop terrace is the icing on the cake: a spectacular spot to sip a cocktail while taking in the views of Barceloneta and the Port Vell marina.
